Freedom isn’t what you think it is …

We like to think we’re free. We make choices, chase goals, and shape our lives. But most of us are trapped, and don’t even realize it.

True freedom isn’t about where you live or what you own. It’s the freedom to be who you really are.

So what happened to that wild, curious, unfiltered version of you?

The one who laughed freely, loved easily, and didn’t care what others thought?

That version still exists. It’s just buried under layers of judgment, fear, and old beliefs.

To reclaim that freedom, you must break the invisible chains that keep you domesticated.

The Toltecs called this process “mastery”, and there are 3 ways to achieve it.

Contents

1. The Second Attention

The first step toward freedom is awareness.

You can’t change what you don’t see. So start by noticing the lies you’ve believed about yourself. The self-limiting ideas that run your mind.

Most of these came from the “dream of the planet”: the collective programming of parents, teachers, and society. They taught you to fit in, not to be free.

Awareness lets you begin a new dream: the dream of the second attention. You start choosing your beliefs instead of inheriting them. You see that every thought, every agreement, shapes your reality.

Transformation takes patience.

Break the small agreements first. Replace them with new ones that bring peace and joy.

Every time you do, your power grows.

Repetition is key: each new choice strengthens your freedom.

2. The Discipline Of The Warrior

Freedom demands strength…

And strength comes from emotional control.

Every day, you wake with a limited amount of energy. Fear, anger, and resentment drain it fast.

A warrior conserves that energy by mastering emotion instead of being ruled by it.

Forgiveness is your weapon!

When you forgive others (and eventually yourself) you cut the cords that keep you tied to pain. The wound closes. The poison leaves.

You’ll know you’re free when the old hurt no longer stings. When someone can press the same button and it no longer causes your negative reaction.

That’s mastery.

The warrior’s path isn’t about fighting others. It’s about mastering yourself.

3. The Initiation Of The Dead

The final path toward freedom is the hardest, but is also the most liberating.

To live fully, you must accept death.

Imagine if you had just one week left. Would you still worry about what others think?

Would you keep living someone else’s dream?

Or would you finally be yourself? Completely and unapologetically?

The “angel of death” isn’t your enemy. It’s your teacher. It reminds you that everything (your home, your job, even your relationships) is borrowed. You don’t own it. You just get to experience it for a while.

When you understand that, the past loses its grip.

The parasite (fear, judgment, and guilt) can’t survive in the present moment. The more you live in the here and now, the freer you become.

The Real You Has Been Waiting

Freedom isn’t something you earn. It’s something you remember.

It’s the child in you who never stopped wanting to laugh, love, and create.

You don’t need to destroy the person you’ve become. Rather, just remove what’s not real.

Bit by bit, agreement by agreement, you return to yourself.

That’s the real work.

That’s the art of living free.
